First I want to thank everyone for all the cards and warm thoughts over the last weeks, they were a comfort and I love you guys. Second I want to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes and presents. I got everything from yarn from Chicago to honey from Louisiana. In other words awesome stuff from awesome people.
My friends at Rivendell gave me the coolest Double Pointed Needle holder made by the yarn gurus at Lantern Moon. The holder is a large circle with wonderful pockets for the DPNs. The pockets are in graduated in size with little flaps to keep everything snugly inside. But wait the holder is like magic...
It folds up into a cute little pie shape that is all securely held together by a magnetic closure. Genius.
And then because I don't have enough Fiestaware in my life I bought a new flatware set. I am crazy about my Fiestaware Masquerade flatware. The enamel colors on the handles are just so, dare I say it, festive. Can't wait to lay these beauties out. This year may not have been the best birthday, but it was one of the more colorful ones.
I was also was given much Fiestaware love too. My lovely wife took me to Cornucopia, the place where Fiestaware lives, and let me pick out much new (but not needed) serving pieces. I got two bowls, and two platters in great new colors which remind me of the early 1970s. The bowls is so large I could make enough potato salad to feed an army of knitters at least through knitting an Jamie sized scarf. The platter is 19 1/2 inches wide, like I will cook anything to fit on it, but hey it was in marigold, it had to be mine.
